Short Film: "Into The Woods"

Back in January, Kiernan shot a short film by director Grainger David, entitled Edge Of The Woods. There is an article on Hollywood Mom Blog (click link for article) about Kiernan's role in the film. Click the preview picture above for more production stills, here is a summary of the film.

The Edge of the Woods is a narrative short film set in a rural farming community in the 1940s, which tells the story of a child named Alice. Alice attempts to convince her parents to let her keep the strange little monster that lives in her basement. Per David, "The whole idea is [that] in this weird little corner of the world, kids get to grow up with a strange little creature, a kind of creature-companion that has to be put down as a coming of age ritual. And this is one of the last ones. People think it's a primitive practice. They don't want to do it anymore. So she has one of the last little creatures, and she's trying to keep it. I'm really excited by it."

Harper's Bazaar's "The Look"

Kiernan is going to be a guest on Harper's Bazaar's new YouTube show "The Look". Laura Brown, the host, said that one of the highlights of the show was "Kiernan Shipka's two closets (one for summer, one for winter)". A new video will be uploaded to Hello Style's YouTube channel every Wednesday at 10 AM PST. You can see Kiernan in the preview for the show, below.

Kiernan Accepts Young Hollywood Award

Kiernan accepted the Scene Stealer award earlier this week at the 14th Annual Young Hollywood Awards. She was presented the award by her Man Men on-screen mother, January Jones. Kiernan was dressed head to toe in Miu Miu. Click the preview for pictures of Kiernan at the event.

“There’s something to be said about the bond between a mother and a daughter,” Jones said onstage. “Even though I’m only a mom to this next recipient on television, I’d like to think that bond still exists.”

Young Hollywood Awards: "Scene Stealer"

Kiernan is going to be presented with a Young Hollywood Award for her work as Sally Draper on Mad Men, on June 14th. She will be recieving the Scene Stealer Award and January Jones, who portrays her mother Betty Draper Francis on the show, will be presenting her with this honor.
